Phase four is the performance package which sees the installation of the engine and gearbox along with all the engine ancillaries. Driving a sports car is an intense experience, this is why the 2.5ltr Duratec engine gives effortless performance and drive ability complemented by a slick modern gearbox, whether it is an adrenaline filled drive or touring it gives the best of both.

  • 2.5 ltr Duratec Engine
    The 2.5Ltr Duratec installation will achieve 200bhp / 196ft-Ib.

    5 Speed Mazda Gearbox with billet alloy remote short shift, gives a more ergonomic position & sharp gear change.

  • Alternator kit
    High output Alternator with billet alloy brackets & pulleys.

    Coil on plug ignition, Bosch green high flow injector to future proof your fuel needs.

  • Gen 2 Duratec Exhaust Manifold
    42mm 304 stainless steel 4-2-1 optimized to give maximum power & torque with 63mm collector.

  • Exhaust Silencer with Cat
    Silencer has 63mm through bore for optimized flow with integrated catalyst & acoustic wading, this meets all emission & the strictest noise limits, yet still sounding great.

  • Cooling system
    This is the thermostat housing, bungs, expansion tanks, hose, clips etc.

  • High pressure fuel system
    Standard swirl pot ensuring optimum fuel flow under the most extreme condition, this coupled to a Bosch pump & our own billet regulator.

  • Battery
    We use a small high out lead acid sealed battery that is mounted low at the front of the chassis giving a better wight distribution.

  • Engine fluids & Gear Oil

    All required fixings for this stage.

The engine is installed further back in the chassis giving the Zero perfect 50/50 balance. This provides optimal control and predictability for maximum confidence and enjoyment. Coupled with the effortless power of the 2.5ltr Duratec and the modern gearbox you will have an extremely capable package.
As standard the Zero is fitted with billet 45mm ATR throttle bodies allowing the engine to breathe, along with a 42mm 304 stainless 4-2-1 optimized exhaust manifold. Giving a great sound without being to loud thanks to our unique silencer system that has built in catalyst to meet the stringent emissions standards.

The engine is controlled by a Life Racing F88 ECU that gives precision control of all aspects of the engine from warm up cycles, full wide band lambda control and safety modes if something was to go out of limits. It also has the built in capability to add future features like traction control, multiple maps and many more.
All the engine ancillaries are custom design for the Zero from the billet alternator bracket and pulleys to the oil housing and sump.
