Duratec or Zetec….. Which engine option would you choose for your Zero?
The Zero is unique among Seven Type cars in having its engine mounted further back in the chassis giving much better weight distribution and balance to the car.
We currently have specific engine mounts and exhaust systems on the shelf for the following Zetec, Zetec SE, Duretec, Pinto, Ford Twin cam, CVH, XFlow, Vauxhall Redtop, Mazda, Honda S2000, Volkswagen / Audi.
In addition to these we have done many other types of engines as special instillation’s such as V6, Turbos, Motorcycle engine, Rotary engine. We are always keen to discuss your ideas and how they can be fitted into the Zero. Click here to see more details about the Zeros.
We recently presented these two nice spec Zeros to IVA and are now just waiting for the registration to come through anytime soon. The Grey Zero is powered by the 2L Ford Zetec engine on the Plenum Chamber and the Blue Zero is powered by a 2.5 Ford Duratec Engine on the popular ATR Throttle Bodies. Zero being enjoyed in Chile & USA Zero Build featured on YouTube.....

Recently we saw these great shots of a customers Zero in Chile on Instagram and wanted to share them with you all. The GBS Zero is very popular in the USA with several Zero’s now on the road and many that are currently being built as well as several more kits that we are currently preparing to export later this year. Back in October 2019 Richard and Anthony were in the USA for the the Miatas Reunion at Laguna Seca with our USA representative Paul Barnes.
On the way to the Laguna Seca, Richard, Anthony and Paul called in to see Frank a GBS Customer in LA who had very nearly completed his build. The Zero build is now all finished and on the road and it was great to see Franks Zero build featured on the SevenSpot YouTube Channel last week. This stunning Zero factory build has been enjoyed on the road for almost a year now...... Covering many enjoyable miles on the road and track. Many of you may have seen it if you visited our stand at the Autosports Show last year, as it was on display along side our Zero demonstrator. 2021 Lockdown update…… You can’t visit us, but you can still take a tour of GBS.

Due to the latest government guideline and national restriction that is in place the GBS Showroom is closed until further notice for visitors so we are unable to invite you to see us. We are pleased to share with you a video that we created last year taking you on a full factory tour and behind the scenes of GBS including our manufacturing site which not many of you have seen before. The video is over 40 minutes and the sections it covers are - Introduction GBS / Kit Spares, Show Room, Main Stores, Bodywork, Manufacturing, Engineering, Clean & Assembly Room, Design Room, Workshop & Test Drive in our demonstrators. We all had a nice Christmas break, a little different to usual but we all now feel refreshed and ready for 2021 to begin.

We are all looking forward to the year ahead, its normally a busy January for the GBS Team as we are always busy preparing the GBS Zeros for our first event of the year which is the Autosport International Show, but sadly this year that is not taking place. The GBS 2021 event Calendar is looking a little different to previous years with not many events yet confirmed, but we will be soon listing the events that we are hoping to be at if they are able to go ahead. We are looking forward to our first GBS Cars & Coffee event which we have planned for Saturday 27th March, which we really hope can safley happen. Some more nice Zero's to recently leave the GBS Factory....

Its been a busy few months with Zero Self Build collections and deliveries, with still a few more scheduled in for collection before the Christmas break, including one that will be collected later this week and off to Sweden. The GBS Workshop also has several nice Zero factory builds in progress along with many other nice Zero’s being with us for the IVA Service, Winter Check ups, Services and more. Brothers Andrew and James Crossland collected their Zero build from us last December (2019) and this December its all registered and on the road. It has been with us in the workshop for a few weeks as we prepared and presented it to IVA. You may have seen their LNER inspired Zero featured on our blog and social media several times during the year. Their Zero build is very special to them and you can read the full story here. We look forward to seeing Andrew, James and family at our Cars & Coffee event next year with their Zero.

Above is GBS Customer Jim Burges newly painted Zero that we delivered to him late last month. Jim purchased the Ultimate Zero Self Assembly Kit, which can be purchased in five different stages as the build progress or all in one go. This is Jim’s second Zero build that he is building and we look forward to seeing photographs as the build progresses, and seeing it on the road next year!

It has been a very strange year for us all, but together we have got through it and still had some great times….

2020 has been a very strange year for us all and Covid-19 has put many of our plans that we all had on hold. But together as a team and with your support we have got through it and still had a successful year. Here are just a few of our favourites moments that we have captured during the year, next year we are hoping will be a much better year for us all and we look forward to enjoying the Zero’s with you all.

The Autosport International and Race Retro were the only two events that the Zero was seen at this year. We look forward to seeing you all next year at many events.

We were pleased to welcome Will to join GBS as our new apprentice. Will is mainly based in our workshop but has spent time in other areas of GBS to get an understanding of what we do.

We had a great time working with the MTDCNC team filming for their 200th Swarf and Chip show which we featured in. We filmed at both the GBS Factory & Blyton Park Circuit - Find out how a British Sports Car is Made…. Click here to see the video.

Our Brand New Gen 2 Zero Demonstrator was released in March this year. Our Zero demonstrator is very high spec with a lot of optional extras and upgrades.

Customer Peer Moberg LHD Zero registered in Norway, the Zero is available in LHD & is sold worldwide. Several other Zero’s also registered in USA.

We were excited to be finalists in the Business Innovation category for this year’s Newark Business Awards. The awards evening is happening on Zoom, we will share with you how we get on later this month!

Autumn Run Out in the Zero’s, we are pleased that we had the opportunity to have a run out in the Zero’s safely. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed around 50 miles through lovely villages & country roads. We look forward to doing it again next year.

We enjoyed a day at Blyton Park Track with the Car Crowd for their launch event. We can’t wait to do more corporate track events and track days with the Zero’s.

Its been a busy year for Zero Factory Builds, with many more currently in production that will be completed and registered in 2021.

Its been a busy year for Zero kit collections and exports. We have been doing deliveries as well as collections to make things easier and safer. We have also seen Zero’s go to Canada, Sweden, France, USA.

Our final event of the year is always our GBS Christmas Cars & Coffee event, unfortunately it will not be happening this year. BUT we are all very much looking forward to our 2021 GBS Cars & Coffee event that we plan to happen on Saturday 27th March at GBS.

We have a very rare opportunity for someone to grab themselves a one off deal on a Zero Self Build kit available…..

Early this year we were approached by a college who has one of our Zero Self Builds kits to see if we would be able to help them, as due to COVID-19, and a tightened budget and the main member of staff who was leading the project left the college, they decided that they do not have the resources and skilled teaching staff to continue with the project. So we agreed to help them find a new home for the car.  

We now have this Zero Self Build kit back with us and its available for sale, this is a very rare opportunity and could be the ideal project for someone looking to build a Zero GT, please see the Zero Spec below-

• Zero 2016/17 Gen1 Chassis (Ford kit spec)

• GT wide body option

• Lowered floor and powder coated chassis

• BRG GRP Set with Sport Front Wings (these are marked but would paint)

• BRG GRP Dash

Our GBS Christmas Cars & Coffee event would be taking place on Saturday 12th December but unfortunately it will not be happening this year BUT we are all very much looking forward to our 2021 GBS Cars & Coffee event that will be happening on Saturday  27th March at GBS.

As many of you know everyone at GBS has a strong passion for cars and anything to do with motorsport and we love our Cars & Coffee events and Track Days etc. But sadly, this year we have not been able to host and exhibit at any events due to Covid-19. So we hope that 2021 will be a better year for us all and that our Cars & Coffee event will be able to go ahead.

We hope to make Saturday 27th March the best GBS Cars & Coffee event yet & raise more money for two great charities…. We will be collecting for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance & Cancer Research. We will announce more details next year, and will do all we can to make sure the event can go ahead safely, all the GBS team look forward to seeing you all.

Nice Zero's with us in the GBS Workshop & Self build Kits collected....

Its has been a busy few weeks and months in the GBS Workshop with several Zero’s and other sports cars coming and going, that have been with us for various works including the IVA Test that we offer. These four Zero’s have all now been IVA tested and are now waiting for the registration to come through. The next two months are also looking very busy as we have more IVA tests booked for several Zero’s and other sports cars and also two very nice factory built Zero’s, which we will share more details with you soon.

Our IVA Service is now back up and running nicely after a slight delay with appointments being cancelled due to Covid-19. Please get in touch if you would like more details or to book your car in with us for the IVA Service that we offer.

Autumn Run Out in the Zero's... Thank you for joining us.

On Saturday (24th October) we enjoyed a run out in the Zero’s where we all met at GBS in the car park to then enjoy a drive out in the Zero’s together. The route that we planned was around 50 miles which was through some lovely villages and country roads finishing in a nice idyllic location in the countryside where we took the opportunity to take some photos. The weather was perfect for us and the rain held off until late afternoon, we would like to thank you all for joining us and making it such an enjoyable morning.

We have really missed hosting and exhibiting at events this year and we can’t wait until we can do more hopefully next year. But we are pleased that we had the opportunity to have a run out in the Zero’s safely and we look forward to doing it again soon. We have also confirmed our date for the 2021 GBS Cars & Coffee which can be seen on our event page.

NEW DATE RELEASED - GBS Cars & Coffee (& Cake) Event 2021.....

We are excited to be planning our first GBS Cars of Coffee event of 2021.
The first Cars & Coffee event of 2021 is happening on Saturday 27th March.... As many of you know everyone at GBS has a strong passion for cars and anything to do with motorsport and we love our Cars & Coffee events and Track Days etc. But sadly, this year we have not been able to host and exhibit at any events due to Covid-19.

So we thought we would plan for 2021 and have something for us to look forward too, when hopefully the Covid-19 situation will be better and things are back to more normality. We will confirm next year that this event is safe to happen, but we hope you will be able to join us, we can’t wait to see you all and welcome you back!
 
The GBS Cars & Coffee event at GBS was created in 2016 and has since been a massive success & we have continued to hold the event again for several years now. Our Cars & Coffee ( & Cake) events often see our car park overflowing with many different sports cars, the event is also becoming renowned for its home made cakes!

Its an event that we have created that gives the chance for you all to have a ride out in your sports cars / meeting point and enjoy a coffee (plus biscuits/ cake of course) and chat about your cars, all are welcome to join us in any car (modern or classic including bikes).

Which one would you have? So many options with the Zero's......

The options on the Zero’s are endless and each Zero that you see is different in many ways. We recently had three stunning factory built Zero’s with us in the workshop and took the opportunity to photograph them together. Each Zero is tailor built to each customer’s specification with your choice of appearance trim and accessories making each car truly unique to its owner.

The Red Zero is our demonstrator and the other two are now both registered and on the road being enjoyed by their new owners. These Zero’s are all very different to each other, and have many areas of personalisation from the wheels and tyres to the engine set up.
