GBS Zero Race Car being enjoyed & GBS Workshop is busy…..

It nice to have this Zero back in our workshop for a  few days, its now currently having the ATR Products Brake upgrade kit fitted. The owner Peter Cartwright competes with his 2.5 Duratec powered Zero in Sprints and does several Track Days a year! The new ATR Products Brake upgrade is very popular with many Zero’s now have it fitted.  You can see more details and images on the Brake upgrade options on our parts website Kit Spares www.kitspares.co.uk

GBS Customer Jon Barratt recently sent us some photos from when he raced at Silverstone International a couple of weeks ago in the Mag Sevens series. He said “Unfortunately, didn't finish the first 40 minute race due to a snapped throttle cable but did well in the second 15 minute sprint gaining six places from the start taking me to 2nd in class”. Jon is also hoping to join us next month on our GBS Track Day at Blyton Park on Sunday 23rd June, click here for more details.

Another GBS customer also collected his sports car from us this week which wasn’t a Zero, Chris Morrison collected his Liege Sports trials car that we completed and prepared and presented to IVA. Chris is now awaiting the registration and hopes to join us in at our GBS Cars & Coffee event which is happening on Saturday 8th June.

Our Apprentice is doing well….

Congratulations again to our Apprentice Thomas Slaney who is doing well at College and recently received some more certificates for EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (CNC Machining) and Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering).

Thomas has been with us for nearly 4 years now, since starting in 2016 Thomas has been based working on our CNC machinery alongside our machinists and designer.

We are all very proud of him and is a very valued member of our team and we are lucky to have such a great apprentice. Thomas is studying at Rotherham College where he attends for 1 day a week.

We would also like to thank Edgecam and Engineering Technology Group (ETG) for their continued support and allowing Thomas to attend their training courses.

Busy Bank Holiday weekend for the GBS Team...

It was a busy Bank Holiday weekend for some of the GBS Team as this weekend was The Stoneleigh Kit Car Show where the Zero’s were on display. Like previous years we had a joint stand between GBS & Kit Spares where a full range of parts and spares were on display and a range of ATR Products including many new products that have recently been released.

We had a very busy 2 days with the GBS Zero’s attracting a lot of attention particularly on the Sunday which we found to be the busiest day, on display was two Zero’s, we had the new Zero Race chassis which is FIA approved along with a recent Zero Factory Build that the owner kindly let us have on display for the weekend that is fitted with a Ford 2.5 Duratec engine, ATR Throttle Bodies and the new ATR Brake set up.

Kit Spares also had a full range of parts and spares on display and had a very busy weekend, the GBS Clothing went down very well and is now available online along with a full range of parts and spares, please visit www.kitspares.co.uk for more details.

As well as our stand inside the Hall 2, we also had a GBS Owners Club area that was located outside and over the weekend was very busy and saw lots of nice Zero’s parked there together over the weekend. (Please see a slide show of a selection of photographs from the weekend)

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand over the weekend and we are now looking forward to our next event on the calendar which is our GBS Summer Cars & Coffee event which is happening on Saturday 8th June at the GBS Factory, let us know if you will be joining us so we know how many cakes to make! The Kit Spares shop will also be open on the day too.
