Busy weekend at the Malvern Kit Car Show - The NEW Zero EV Chassis was revealed.....

Last weekend (1st & 2nd June) we had a busy time at the Malvern Kit Car Show at Three Counties Showground. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to see us over the weekend and it was great to see both new and existing customers. We were located in the main hall and on display was our 2.5 Ford Duratec powered Zero demonstrator along with our new Zero EV Chassis which was revealed for the very first time on our stand. Our full EV Zero self build option was well received and we already have chassis in production, you can see and read more about the new Zero EV on our new Zero EV option page - Click here. Also on our stand was a range of our ATR Products that we design and manufacture, these are all available online from our parts website Kit Spares - www.kitspares.co.uk

The weather was perfect for the show and it was great to see outside busy with stalls, car clubs and much more. We had a dedicated area reserved outside for GBS Owners which was nice to see busy on Sunday with several Zeros parked together. The next GBS Factory Tour date announced... Book you place now

Back in February we held a Factory Tour event at GBS which was a great success and a sell out, we are pleased to have confirmed another date later this year for you to come and enjoy a full factory tour of GBS.

We are pleased to offer this opportunity again for a privileged insight into everything that goes into creating the GBS Zero and associated products that we manufacture.
If you are thinking of buying a GBS Zero, have one already or if you are into your motorsport and engineering and would love to see what we do then this is the event for you.
The tour will be led by Richard the Director of Great British Sports Cars and the team, which will include a Tour of the GBS Workshop, Parts Department, Engineering and Assembly Area, Fabrication, Composites and more. The numbers per tour are limited to give a more personal experience. The next Factory tour date is happening on Saturday 29th June, more details can be found on our event page with a link to book your place, head to our GBS YouTube Channel where you will see a short video of our last GBS factory tour experience.

We were one of the very first to go on the tour.  And what a treat it was too!  This is a bit different to the normal corporate factory tours we’ve done before.  This felt much more authentic and honest.  Not rehearsed nor delivered by a member of staff.  We were taken around by Richard , the director.  So we got to hear first hand how the business started and how the business has grown.  The tour itself was fascinating as you moved around the premises from room to room (which is like a Tardis!) GBS is a really small team, but that’s what makes this whole business so unique and so incredibly special.  When you see the finished masterpieces created here you will be yearning to buy one.  Anyone who wants a Caterham will think again after visiting.  The tour brings the whole production to life and Richard’s passion for what he believes in and ultimately what him and his team creates will leave you feeling you have to buy a car!  Highly recommend this tour for its individuality and Britishness! 

Second GBS Track Day of 2024 date is confirmed....

After a great track day back in March at Blyton park we are pleased to confirm our second GBS Track Day of 2024 that is happening on Wednesday 26th June 2024 at Donington Park and the GBS team would like to invite you all to join in your Zero’s.

Its on the national circuit at Donington Park which is 1.9 miles and an open pit lane, starting at 9am and finishing at 5pm you will be guaranteed to get lots of laps in. We can’t wait and hope you can all join us and enjoy the day with us. We will be there with the Zero’s which we will be offering passenger rides with one of the GBS team. Passenger passes can all be purchased on the day with Javelin Track Days along with Helmet hire too.

Zero Self Build Kit arrives in Australia and another being exported soon...

The Zero is sold and enjoyed on the road all over the world, this Zero Self Build Kit recently arrived in Australia last month after being collected from us earlier this year, we look forward to following this build as it progresses and sharing updates with you. Another Zero that recently arrived back from paint that was painted in Porsche Riveria Blue with McLaren Orange stripes is now being prepared for shipment and its packing crate will soon arrive and it will be on the way to USA very soon. Another very nice spec Zero painted in Acid Green arrived in Jersey last month and the build is now underway.

We are pleased to announce that we will now be offering a Sadev 6 speed sequential gearbox options for the Zero and through our parts shop Kit Spares for other cars. After a recent visit from SWR Motorsport we are pleased to be working with them as they are the UK Sadev agent to offer a full range of products for the Zero.

The Sadev 6 speed sequential gearbox is perfect in size for the Zero offering ultra power and performance. Sadev are renowned around the world for making the finest transmission, we have chosen to work with them for this reason to be able to offer our customer the very best transmission to further enhance the Zero making it the ultimate sports car.

Friday Night At The Factory is back for 2024..... Join us Friday 10th May at GBS.

Friday Night at the Factory is back and happening in May / June / July / August at Great British Sports Cars.
Happening again this year is our Friday Night at the Factory event -This event we are planning to happen one Friday a month from May to August. Similar style to our GBS Cars & Coffee events this is a great opportunity for you all to have a summer evening ride out in your sports cars / bikes and a meeting point to enjoy an evening of cars, bikes, car chat, music, food and drinks with the GBS Team. The GBS Car Park will be open from 5pm till late.  

Hot Food (Pizza) and Drinks will be available for you all to enjoy on the night. The first date for the GBS Friday Night at the Factory is happening on Friday 10th May and then we plan them to take place in June, July and August. The other dates will be confirmed and announced very soon.

All cars and bikes are welcome and everyone is welcome to join us for a great evening. Please drive responsibly in the local area.

We are pleased to have recently booked our stands at this years Kit Car Shows...... Which are taking place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.

Then later in the year than normal we will also be at the Newark Kit Car Show that is very close to the GBS Factory at Newark Showground in Newark on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September.

We have not yet confirmed which Zeros will be on display but follow us on our social media channels to see more details nearer the time. A sample range of parts from Kit Spares will also be on display - With the option to pre order your parts and collect at the show.

We are excited to share with you all that we have now confirmed the date for the next GBS Cars & Coffee event of 2024, which is proudly sponsored by Yokohama Tyres and will be taking place on Saturday 15th June at GBS from 10am-2pm.

As many of you know everyone at GBS has a strong passion for cars and anything to do with motorsport and we love our Cars & Coffee events and Track Days etc and we all love to host our Cars & Coffee days which are getting busier and attracting a variety of sports cars each time we host one.

After working with and stocking Yokohama Tyres for several years now and supplying them on our parts website and shop Kit Spares we are delighted that they are joining us again this year at our next GBS Cars & Coffee event.

Another great thing about our GBS Cars & Coffee events are that we raise more money for two great charities…. We collect for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance & Cancer Research, and will be collecting on the day. Refreshments are free and all we ask for is a donation to our chosen charities.

Fantastic first GBS Track Day of the year at Blyton Park....

Fantastic day at our first GBS Track Day of the year….. Last Saturday (23rd March) was our first GBS Track Day of the year at Blyton Park, where we were joined with 10 other Zero owners some of which was their first time out on the Track in their Zeros.

Out on track was our two Zero demonstrators - Our Zero Mazda demonstrator & New Ford Zero Race car, which were doing not stop laps. Our new Zero Race Car performed exceptionally well and had ques with people wanting passenger laps. Lauren our apprentice who only recently passed her driving test was out on track in our Mazda demonstrator having fun most of day. We would like to thank everyone who joined us and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, even although it was so cold!

Students Zero Race Self Build Kit is progressing well....

Just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays we welcomed a group of year 2 motorsport students from Stafford & Newcastle College (NSCG College) to GBS for a full factory tour. The College now have their Ultimate Zero (Race Chassis) self build kit and the students are now well underway with their build and we have already received a lot of photos from them. The new Zero build guide that we have has been a great help to them and we look forward to following their build, and them joining us at our future events with their very own Zero. We also look forward to welcoming them back to GBS again later this year for another student factory tour.

The Zero build is an ideal education tool in engineering and technical programs. Students gain practical experience developing their knowledge and understanding of engineering in a practical application. As well as being an exciting and captivating project for students a GBS Zero build maintains interest and enthusiasm with a real sense of achievement as each stage is completed. At our next Cars & Coffee event we are supporting the Local Easter Egg Run....

Its not long now till our first Cars & Coffee event of the year which is happening on Saturday 9th March at GBS with Howden Insurance.

We are also pleased to be supporting the local Easter Egg Run that is happening on Sunday 17th March. Lauren our Fabrication apprentice has supported this event for several years now with her dad on their motor bikes and will be taking our donated Easter Eggs. At our Christmas Cars & Coffee event we supported the Me&Dee Hospital Run and collected Christmas gifts for the children, where we were delighted to have received so many gifts. On the day (9th March) we will collecting Easter Eggs for the charity Egg Run, these can be left with the team at the refreshment area.

We are pleased to be supporting this fantastic charity and collecting Easter eggs to donate to the Children. Lauren will be here on the day collecting the Easter Egg donations and will be able to answer any questions about the charity. We look forward to seeing you all, there will be plenty of cakes to enjoy!

We were saddened to hear that this years Race Retro Show has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. We understand their decision and that the safety and well-being of attendees, participants, staff and local residents remain their top priority.

Due to cancellation of the Race Retro Show we have decided to have an open house at GBS this Saturday (24th February) from 10am to 4pm. We are delighted that we will also be supported by a few other exhibitors and clubs that were going to be at the show that we will share more about later in the week on our social media channels.
If you were planning on visiting our stand at the Race Retro this weekend we hope you will come and join us on Saturday at GBS instead, below are some more details about what we are planning -

More Zero Race Cars soon to be on the track.....

Every Zero that you see is different and bespoke to the individual customer, this Zero Race chassis the customer wanted painted blue, we can’t wait to see it finished and out on the track later this year.
The Zero is available as both a self-build and factory built option and also a Race chassis option is available which you can see here. We have recently had a lot of Zero Race Chassis in production that we look forward to following the builds off.

For maximum safety and rigidity our Race chassis comes with a fully welded integrated Roll Cage that is MSUK compliant or to full FIA Compliant spec. The custom Zero Race allows you to tailor the Zero to the engine and running gear configuration of your choice to suit the race series you are competing in, weather that is an already compatible engine or a completely custom engine installation.
