More Zero Race Cars soon to be on the track.....

Every Zero that you see is different and bespoke to the individual customer, this Zero Race chassis the customer wanted painted blue, we can’t wait to see it finished and out on the track later this year.
The Zero is available as both a self-build and factory built option and also a Race chassis option is available which you can see here. We have recently had a lot of Zero Race Chassis in production that we look forward to following the builds off.

For maximum safety and rigidity our Race chassis comes with a fully welded integrated Roll Cage that is MSUK compliant or to full FIA Compliant spec. The custom Zero Race allows you to tailor the Zero to the engine and running gear configuration of your choice to suit the race series you are competing in, weather that is an already compatible engine or a completely custom engine installation.

Our Race Car Specification of our Zero Race Demonstrator that was recently seen on our stand at the Autosport’s International show is a FIA Homologated Race Chassis Painted Gloss White / Satin Black 2.5 Duratec Engine / ATR throttles / Life ECU Power options 200 - 350 bhp 5 Speed gearbox / Quick shift GRP Dash with AIMS Dash Race Seats / TRS 6pt Harness Momo Steering Wheel Lightweight Floor & Bodywork ATR Adjustable Suspension ATR Brakes Sports Race Fuel Tank & Swirl Pot 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold Team Dynamics Wheels & Yokohama Tyres.

The Zero Race car is ideal if you are looking for a track day car or a competition race car to compete at all levels. There are a range of optional extras and upgrades available along the way, so you will be building a truly individual race car that is unique and bespoke to you. We are looking forward to our first GBS Track Day of 2024 that is happening on Saturday 23rd March at Blyton Park

Always great to see and hear from customer out enjoying their Zero....

Last month this Zero was collected from the GBS Workshop that we prepared and presented for IVA. It was a Mazda based Zero kit which is now registered and being enjoyed on the road, below is the spec of this Zero Build and few words from Martin & Jane who have built the car, we look forward to them joining us next year in their Zero at our events

Mazda Zero Spec: Mazda Zero Plus Kit / Standard Chassis / ATR Throttle Bodies / 1.8 Mazda engine / ATR Suspension / Momo Quick Release Steering Boss / GBS Logo Seats / LED Style Headlights / Rear Diffuser / Boot Cover / Painted Nardo Grey with the GRP Bonnet Scoop / Registered as an age related plate.

In between the snow, ice and rain we have just managed to get our first run out after fitting the windscreen & doors. Got to say it was all we expected and more, handles perfectly, great acceleration and the sound of those throttle bodies sucking air in on acceleration is addictive. Me and the Lancashire Constabulary are probably going to get to know each other well if I’m not careful.

Massive thanks to all at GBS from the first visit through to to helping us during the build process and getting to our first run today. Fantastic company to deal with always willing to do that extra bit and this shows through the enthusiasm of all the staff we have met on this journey. Will hopefully get to one of your events at some point next year but in the meantime we both would like to wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

Once again a big thank you and we both wish you well for the future.
Martin & Jane Cordeaux.

See the link below to a video we did of this build whilst it was with us in the workshop.

GBS Workshop YouTube Channel updated....

The new Zero Build Guide that we released last month has proven very popular and we have had some very positive feedback about it and are continuing to work behind the scenes to develop and add to it.
We also find that videos are a useful way and often easier way to give advise and guide you through certain areas of the Zero build, as we can go into more detail. So we are now working to produce and release regular videos on certain areas of the build via our workshop YouTube Channel.
We still have a our main GBS YouTube Channel that will still be updated with other videos that are not as technical, more about the cars, events, behind the scenes and other exciting projects we are doing. Lauren joined the GBS Team just over a year ago and is currently doing her Apprenticeship with us for Fabrication & Welding and studying at West Notts College in Mansfield on a Level 3 Fabricator course where she attends 1 day a week. Lauren is based in our fabrication department which earlier this year moved premises into our current building that we expanded into, where she helped with the move into the facilities. Lauren and the team are working on some existing and new products that the team have been developing that we will be releasing later this year. At the beginning of her apprenticeship with us, Lauren had a project of her own which was to design and make a TV Display stand out of a barrel drum that we wanted to have on our stand at shows and events and that can now be seen in our showroom.

Laurens says “ The first year has gone very quick and iv really enjoyed it, learning lots of new skills and had lots of exciting projects and products to work on. Moving into the new premises earlier this and being under one roof is great for me, as being an apprentice I able to work alongside other members of the team in other departments. I am now looking forward to the next 3 years of my apprenticeship with the team.

We have a fantastic team here at GBS who like Lauren all have a strong passion for all types of Motorsport. Lauren has a strong back ground in mechanics and interest in motorsport and especially motorbikes, having a motorbike of her own and recently passing her driving theory test she will soon be doing year driving test later this year.

We are proud that around 80% of the Zero is made in house and many of you that have already visited us at the GBS Factory will know that we design and manufacture a lot of our products in house including the ATR Suspension, Throttle Bodies and more.

Another Zero IVA Tested and soon to be enjoyed on the road......

GBS Customer Chris Jones from Keswick collected his Zero Self Build Kit from us 10 years ago on the 15th September which was his 50th Birthday present. Chris’s Zero that is powered by the Ford Zetec engine on the ATR Throttle Bodies was with us for our IVA Service that we offer and recently passed its IVA test, came to collect it earlier this week.

Chris is now looking forward to enjoying it on the road once its registered and is planning on joining us in his newly registered Zero next month at our GBS Cars & Coffee event that is happening at GBS on Saturday 17th June.

Chris also kept a build diary of photographs during his build over the 10 years which was great to see, which we have shared with you below which features our very first Zero demonstrator.

For more details about the Zero self build kits we offer, please contact us.

GBS Zero Student Build - Tesla engine into a Zero.....

GBS Zero Student Build…… Earlier this year a college placed their order for their first GBS Zero Self Build Kit which the students will be building later this year. This wasn’t a standard kit as they wanted the Zero to be electrically powered by a Tesla engine. So the Zero chassis has had to be modified to suit their engine choice.

This complete custom engine installation is currently underway to accommodate a Tesla engine in our fabrication department. We look forward to following and supporting the students with this exciting build.
We are able to work with you to customise the whole power train and other aspects of the car. We recently completed a Zero build which you may have seen featured on our news page before that was powered by a Kawasaki 1400 GTR engine that is now complete and road registered and being enjoyed on the road. Before it left the GBS Workshop we made a short video talking through the spec of this Zero and this can now be seen on our GBS YouTube channel.

The Zeros can be enjoyed on the Road & Track, with the option to have this Zero kit with the Zero fully welded integrated Roll Cage, which are MSA Compliant and FIA Compliant.

See more details about the Zero Self Build options we offer including the Zero Custom kit here, or contact us to discuss your Zero build.

Bespoke paint options..... Behind the scenes at paint.....

Full custom paint for your Zero….

Our full custom paint option that we offer has become a very popular option and recently we have seen some very nice paint colour and options being chosen, as well as some that are scheduled for paint over the coming weeks that we look forward to sharing with you. Our custom paint option is truly individual to you, we work with you from start to finish to get your bespoke paint colour and design that you want.

Above is a recent Zero factory build at paint that is now back with us in the build bay for the build to continue, we will share more details on this paint colour and spec next month. A lot of preparation work goes into getting the Zero ready for paint, the paint process usually takes around 2 to 3 weeks but that can change depending on the paint design.

If you already have a Zero then we can do a full paint transformation, visit our paint option page to see an example of a customers paint transformation from orange to grey that we did. More details about our paint and vehicle graphics can be found here, or contact us and we can discuss the options with you.
